Badgers Football 2013 Record | Will Wisconsin Top 2012?
By T.J. Bryce | Posted Wednesday, January 30

2012 was a frustrating year for the Wisconsin Badgers. They won the Big Ten and played in the Rose Bowl yet again, but they were considered to be the weakest BCS Conference champion by a large margin. Some non-BCS Conference Champions were even considered to be better than them. For those who want to forget about this season and move on I've got some bad news for you. 2013 could be a repeat of 2012.
The Badgers begin the season with a pair of non-conference games against FCS opponents, the Massachusetts Minutemen and the Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles. Wisconsin should win both games easily, but as we have seen in recent years, anything can happen in these FBS-FCS match-ups during the early part of the season. After those two games, the Badgers will travel to Sun Devil Stadium to take on Arizona State. This is a game that could go either way. Following the trip to Arizona State, the Badgers will begin their Big Ten Conference schedule with a home game against Purdue, one that they should win. They follow that up with what will probably be one of the marquee match-ups in the Big Ten in 2013 when they travel to Columbus to take on Ohio State the following week and right now, I think the Buckeyes are a better team, especially once they get the defense figured out.
Badgers Versus Northwestern
They get a week off before taking on Northwestern at home. In recent years, Northwestern is a program that gradually keeps getting better and better by the year. Wisconsin then hits the road to take on Illinois, which should be a win. After another week off the Badgers hit the road again to take on Iowa, who had a sub par 2012 season by their standards and will be looking to make amends in 2013. Wisconsin then comes home to take on Bronco Mendenhall and the BYU Cougars, who are probably the toughest team to beat on a yearly basis out of all of the non-BCS schools. The Badgers then finish out the regular season at home against Indiana, on the road against Minnesota, and at home against the disgraced Penn State Nittany Lions. To sum it all up, I see 3-4 losses in there which means 2013 will be a repeat of 2012.
